What types of solar panels are there?

There are three common types of solar panels currently on the market. The differences between them mainly occur in efficiency, lifespan, and price.

Monocrystalline solar cell

The most effective and durable type
Works well in less sunny environments
Black or dark blue in appearance

Polycrystalline solar cell

More cost-effective, but slightly less efficient
Blueish tint, "grainy" pattern
Reliable, long-term solution

Thin-film solar cell

Lightweight, flexible, can be installed even on curved surfaces
Lower efficiency but wider temperature tolerance
Recommended for industrial or special applications

What system designs exist?

Solar systems can be classified into three basic types depending on how they connect to the electrical grid.

Island system

Not connected to the electricity grid
Store energy using batteries
Ideal solution in places where there is no network coverage

Grid-connected system (grid regeneration)

One of the most common solutions
The generated energy is used immediately, and the excess is fed into the utility grid.
This is the most economical type for most single-family homes and businesses.

Mixed-mode system (hybrid)

Combines the advantages of stand-alone and grid-connected systems
Battery storage + network connection
Provides maximum flexibility and energy independence
